GENERAL SCIENCE WITH LAB |
7th and 8th grade science (special permission for 6th graders) Description:
This
course offers a good introduction to understanding how God created the
world. It is a lab course with 16 modules covering simple machines,
paleontology, biology, human anatomy, & more. The author weaves
into all of his information a strong contrast between creationism &
evolution. It is very important that the student begin to understand
science through a "creationism" or "intelligent design" worldview.
Emphasis will be on learning & mastery of the information. Tests
are given after each chapter and course grades are supplied every 9
weeks. I work closely with the parents to help the student learn to
study & be successful in the class.

HEADING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION - SOCIAL STUDIES FOR TEEN WOMEN |
$45 per student per month (discounts are available) As a young woman in today's society, I know firsthand the pressures that our culture puts on girls and women of all ages. With airbrushed models on magazine covers and plastic surgery on the rise, it is easy as a young lady to be lost in understanding what true beauty looks like. Because we are women of God, we have a higher calling and responsibility. Therefore, I believe it is my calling as a woman to help other young women to discover their true, individualized beauty and a purposeful, meaningful life. This course will cover multiple topics: an in-depth study of women and their roles in past, present, and future societies. We will study what makes a woman beautiful in her own eyes, in society's eyes, and most importantly, in God's eyes. In order to help one find life's purpose and form realistic goals, we will perform multiple self-examinations to discover individual passions, interests, and personality strengths using various exercises, and personality tests. These activities will help the girls form a clearer vision of what their purpose in life is and then teach them how to achieve their goals through realistic goal setting. We will have guest speakers who have found their purpose and will show the girls how they have accomplished what they have always dreamed to do. As a certified personal trainer, I will also teach the girls the three aspects of being beautiful: spiritual beauty, mental beauty, and physical beauty. I believe that you must understand all three to be a confident woman. There will be reading assignments, graded homework, field trips, fun fitness exercises, and a course that will not only make them appreciate who they are but also prepare them for life's challenges, thus helping them decide if they should take the world's path to beauty or God's path. |

utilize the basic four types of writing: descriptive, informative,
narrative and persuasive along with specific writing techniques for
each writing exercise. An essay will be assigned every other week and
will be read aloud in class. Alternating weeks will focus on the
development and practice of a new writing technique or style. Grammar
and vocabulary words will be taught every week and will be used and
incorporated into the writing assignments. So c'mon, together let's
expose the hidden writer within!

incorporated into the writing assignments as required elements until
they become a natural part of your thinking and expression. Writing
topics will cover the four types of writing - descriptive narrative,
informative, and persuasive. Learn to use the right tools and
techniques for writing so you don't end up crumpling your paper in
frustration. Join us, and I guarantee lots of writing as well as lots
